Pierre-Paul denounces family violence

Josué Pierre-Paul
On the air of an important Haitian radio station, on May 7, Josué Pierre-Paul denounced violence parents are doing against their children and invited them to adopt better behavior so children can get better education for their future.

"Parents must stop nudging their children to do prostitution or illegal things", Pierre-Paul declared. Since its start in August 2009, the Pierre-Paul Christian Initiative has been leading a serious fight against violence, mainly family violence that affect children. According to the PCI president, violence as domestics in others' houses and violence in parents' home are not different. Violence must be avoided by all means.

Regarding Haitian acculturation, Pierre-Paul asserted parents and Haitian state are the main people in charge. Children are forsaken by both and no practical program has been developed for accompanying them. Parents, who are the main family authority, prefer practicing abuse and injustice in their family relationship. That's the reason why the new generation got so different.

It was also a time for the leader to inform people on all the educational works his organization has done hitherto. More than 150 children have been supported to go to school, and more than 3,000 trained on various subjects (Sexual education, awareness for parents and children, psychosocial activities, food distribution, etc.).  He said more funds and support are needed by his organization to keep on its educational program, as no education means no hope for the future.

Education must be used to enable children to better enter the society and give them better ability to help improve our community, according to the PCI leader. Pierre-Paul denounces Haitian education leads children to know a big sum of things with no way to do experimentation. "Children should only learn practical things they would need to improve the world. If they want to know more, University should the place for them to".
